Get your brain in top form with memory techniques
What would it be like to be able to remember things like your weekly shopping list easily and without any aids? Or important dates, whether in your professional or private life? After a presentation by Kirsten Wunderle, this is no longer a pipe dream, but a reality. The expert for mental peak performance shows her audience new and creative ways of learning and, through her humor, depth and emotion, not only easily reaches their hearts, but also the brains of her audience almost unnoticed. Memorable in the truest sense of the word – even weeks and months later.

German Rotary Volunteer Doctors e.V.: The use of district and global grants as a motor for health aid projects in the world using the example of Ghana and Nepal
GRVD is an association founded in 1998 by Rotarians from all German Rotary districts with the aim of improving health care in developing countries. Since its foundation, over 2000 volunteers, mainly medical professionals, have been sent to the main countries of Ghana and Nepal.
The presentation takes you to these target countries and shows you the often unimaginable problems on site. In order to alleviate the need here, Rotary clubs, also with the help of district and global grants, tackle small and large projects, supported by GRVD.
That is Rotary International!

rare diseases | PLZ30
The lecture explains the medical and economic aspects of special drugs for the treatment of rare diseases (orphan drugs).
Orphan drugs are drugs for the treatment of rare diseases that are not so rare overall: It is estimated that a good 5% of the population suffer from a rare disease. The mostly congenital and genetic diseases are clinically extremely challenging, both in terms of diagnosis and treatment. The business model for the drugs that have been and are being developed specifically for the individual diseases differs significantly from that of the traditional pharmaceutical industry. The lecture will shed light on the specific medical and economic aspects of orphan drugs and rare diseases and discuss the particular challenges of this therapeutic and industrial sector.

Quantifying the effects of the low-interest phase on the expectations of the ”average consumer“ with regard to retirement provision”
The study begins with an analysis of the most important sources of old-age provision in Germany, particularly with regard to their recent and future development. Against this background, a simple model is used to illustrate the impact of a change in the key parameters on the expected costs of private pension provision for an “example person” from 1998 to the present day. Based on this, a comparison is made with the world’s largest currency areas. Finally, after a discussion of the results, findings are derived that could be relevant for the professional and political discussion.

Creating synergies by getting to know each other and working together
Ever since Rotaract became a form of membership and is no longer a Rotary program, many interesting questions have arisen. What is Rotaract and who is a Rotaract member? What are Rotaract’s goals? What distinguishes Rotaract from Rotary and where are the organizations closer than you might think? How can Rotaract and Rotary work together? The aim of the presentation is to give the audience an understanding of Rotaract, to present ideas for cooperation and to achieve more together as a Rotary family. If desired, information on founding a Rotaract club can also be presented.

The Space Command of the German Armed Forces | PLZ82
The Space Command of the German Armed Forces | PLZ82
Modern societies are essentially dependent on space – is Germany equipped for this?
The Bundeswehr Space Command is based in Uedem and Kalkar – what is done there? How many satellites does Germany have and what are they used for? The sustainable and safe use of space is of considerable strategic relevance, but the space that can be used for these purposes is infinite and only lightly regulated. Ensuring space security therefore requires joint global government action by the UN, NATO and the EU
Space utilization and space security are essential for all armed forces.
