Why Rotary of all organizations? To do something good in this world, there are many other organizations for which generous donations or volunteer work are always worthy of honour.
And if you want to listen to sophisticated lectures or enjoy friendly socializing, there are also plenty of alternative options.
The lecture acknowledges the uniqueness of Rotary – with its decidedly international character and the cultivation of personal friendships across all borders (of whatever kind…). Above all, however,
emphasizes the outstanding importance of Rotary values in a time that – according to Wolfgang Ischinger – is characterized by a historical “epochal break”.

Franz Rainer Enste (RC Langenhagen-Wedemark), born in Münster/Westphalia, studied law and political science and initially worked as a judge at the administrative courts of Lüneburg and Stade and as head of the legal department of the city of Lüneburg. After moving to the Lower Saxony state parliament, he held various senior positions in the state parliament administration and most recently as government spokesman in the Lower Saxony state chancellery. He is currently the anti-Semitism commissioner for the state of Lower Saxony. He has been a Rotarian since 2001 and was District Governor of District 1800 in 2019/20.
