Inspiring young people for social commitment | PLZ67

Participation in the ”Doing Good Challenge” youth competition offers Rotary clubs many opportunities to promote the club’s youth work and public relations.

The aim of the association “Doing Good Challenge e.V.” (DGC), which was founded by Rotarians, Rotaractors and Interactors, is to introduce young people to social commitment and to get them excited about it. To this end, the association organizes the nationwide “Doing Good Challenge” competition of the same name every two years, for which young people are asked to independently design and implement a social campaign. The association has already reached over 14,000 young people in two rounds of the competition.
At the Rotary International Convention in Hamburg, the association had its own stand in the “House of Friendship” and presented a concept on how Rotary and Rotaract clubs can boost their youth and public relations work by supporting the competition. In his presentation, speaker Andreas Laschke explained the core idea of the competition, gave great examples of youth engagement and explained the many opportunities that arise for a Rotary club through participation.
