The Tagesschau on TikTok – a news brand for all generations

The Tagesschau: Everyone knows it as THE television brand. The Tagesschau gong at 8 p.m. is probably the best-known sound that has heralded the TV evening in German households for decades. However, the boom of the internet and smartphones has made it necessary to expand the brand to new digital channels. But how does news fit in with the colorful click and swipe world on TikTok? How do dry reports about the federal budget reach young schoolchildren in the for-you feeds without breaking with the serious brand image? In an interactive talk, Patrick Weinhold uses many examples to explain the transformation of tagesschau from a TV brand to a 360-degree media brand for new audiences.
