Sustainability fact check | PLZ64

Raw material consumption, ecological footprint and species extinction under the microscope

Is humanity’s consumption of raw materials too high? Is the ecological footprint exceeding planetary boundaries? How serious is the extinction of species?
With these three key questions, the lecture shows by way of example that the image conveyed by the media on sustainability issues should often be treated with great caution. Based on the latest global data and research results, the actual situation regarding these problems is outlined on the one hand and the expected development in this century on the other. At the end, the lecture will give a brief overview of the entire spectrum of (ecological) sustainability.
The lecture lasts approx. 30 minutes, but can be shortened or extended as required.
